OzCrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide may be applied at any time of the year. Treatments become effective after sufficient rainfall has occurred to move the chemical into the root zone where woody plants absorb it. Applications just before seasonal rainfall give the most rapid response.
Herbicidal activity will continue for several seasons after application. During this time, woody plants may undergo repeated defoliations and re-growth until death occurs. A single application is normally effective for several years. The residual action of OzCrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide may be impaired if a fire occurs before clay pellets are dissolved, and the chemical has moved into the root zone.
How does OzCrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide work;
OzCrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide is formulated as pelletised granular pellets that are applied to the ground around the base of woody plants. The pellets work by inhibiting the growth of the roots of woody plants. The active ingredient, tebuthiuron, is a systemic herbicide, which means that it is absorbed by the plant and moves through the vascular system to the roots. Once it reaches the roots, tebuthiuron blocks the production of essential amino acids, which causes the plant to die.
The clay pellets require moisture to break down before the plant’s roots can absorb them. Only then does the herbicide begins to work. The time it takes for the plant to die will vary depending on the species of plant and the amount of herbicide applied. Larger trees may take many weeks or months to die. OzCrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide is a relatively safe herbicide when used as directed. However, it is important to follow the instructions on the label carefully to avoid any potential risks.
